Next Zoom August 10th

The next film to be discussed on Wednesday, August 10th at 6:30pm will be THE LADY IN QUESTION IS CHARLES BUSCH. This feature documentary looks deep inside the world of one of the most prolific, talented, and outrageous New York theater artists of the last four decades, beloved playwright, actor, novelist, and leading lady, Charles Busch.

From early wild success in the East Village theater scene of the 1980’s, to Broadway gold and successful star turns on the silver screen, Busch’s fascinating and also turbulent life is brought into focus in this hilarious and moving “drag to riches story” (Village Voice). The film is premiered at the 2005 Tribeca Film Festival and went on to air on the Sundance Channel and PBS stations after winning Best Documentary at the 2007 International Gay Film Awards. Can be streamed on Vimeo on Demand.

Chillfest is partnering with Stonewall National Museum & Archives (SNMA) for a monthly Film Club. Chillfest programmers, John Catania and Charles Ignacio select films for members to screen at home and then meet on Zoom to discuss and critique. Zoom link information will be provided after joining the group.
